TECH Teachers Beware: New Guidelines for Batteries from the TSA


If you are a traveling teacher, you now need to put your spare lithium batteries in your carry on baggage only.
Effective January 1, 2008, the Department of Transportation (DOT) through the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) will no longer allow loose lithium batteries in checked baggage.


Basically, you can still carry them with you in carry on, but not in your checked baggage.
