Professor Quon was in the far north gathering evidence on climatic changes caused by the 'greenhouse effect'. Quon relayed his findings to the nearest base by short-wave radio. During one radio conversation Quon reported the temperature as minus 40 degrees. "Is that Celsius or Fahrenheit?" responded the radio man. "I couldn't care less which way you record it," replied Quon. Why would Professor Quon have such a cavalier attitude to scientific data?
